The Priory- Hospice of Saint John of God, called simply: SAN JUAN DE DIOS, was built and is maintained by the Christian Charity of Faithful. It has the capacity for about one hundred psychiatric patients. Many are whom have no family or are more or less abandoned by their families. And many, especially the women, were ‘psychiatric vagrants’. There are many categories of men of mental illness at SAN JUAN DE DIOS: - Drug induced psychosis
- Schizophrenia
- Depression
- Personality disorders
- Severe mental retardation
- Some patients are also epileptic…
Jesus certainly repeats to you, as He repeats to us also, that whatever we do for these, His least brothers, we do it to Him. Help Him then by helping them.
